These robust compact LED lights provide excellent illumination for such a rugged vehicle. Steve Tolan was very pleased with the lights saying " , “I have now fitted the CL-Minis you kindly donated to us, and I am just so pleased with them. The vehicle is also used by me for expeditions, and I carry a large amount of equipment in the back. Having good lighting in the cab, and the windowless storage area behind is vital, and the CL-Minis far exceeded my expectation of them in terms of their light output and coverage. EU Directive spells end for Halo-phosphour Tubes
In a drive to reduce Carbon Emissions on a pan European level, The European Commission has put into effect new directives to phase out energy inefficient lamps.
These directives cover all lighting areas, including T8 Halophosphor lamps with effect on April 13th 2010.
Commission Regulation (EC) No 245/2009 with regards to Eco Design requirements for fluorescent lamps without integrated ballast, for high intensity discharge lamps, and for ballasts and luminaries able to operate such lamps requires fluorescent lamps to meet specific performance criteria including lumens/Watt, lumen maintenance, power factor and colour rendering.
Based on the above requirements our current standard (15/18/30/36/58Watt) T8 Halophosphor tubes fail to meet the requirements.
This means that manufacture of this category of lamp will cease on 13 April 2010, and supply will diminish as any existing stocks are depleted. Full Story ...
